Background of the Story
The blog is not an attempt to make people feel the depressing scenario of the dumpsite nor it focuses on how hard it is to be a scavenger or garbage picker; instead it focuses on the positive outcome of the scavengers’ effort to elevate their living through the junks that most of us think are useless.
Considered as the poorest of the poor, a scavengers’ life is indeed not easy, taking advantage of the stuff that the rodents, pests and the like are also yearning for. Consequently, the team wants to know how they try to make a living that will answer their family’s expenses out of truckloads of trash unloaded in the Dump Site.
"Supat Kan Hinangos Ko, Gikan sa Basura Mo" inspires us so much that we realize "Life" is the most interesting research topic to chew over, especially depicting the humble yet extraordinary life of an ordinary garbage picker.
Indeed, this study will unravel the story that would reveal life's realities on the other side of the world ----------- THE WORLD OF THE GARBAGE PICKERS IN BALATAS DUMPSITE.
